My intro to performing started at age 6, when my mom signed my sister up for theatre camp, and I begged to go with her (after years of proving my talents singing and dancing in the back seat).
My first role ever was a cloud and an Indian in Peter Pan. Yes. A cloud. My first line was to sneeze as one of the Indians. I forgot both shows. (I promise, I am much more professional now).

My first role on a professional stage came 2 years later in Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. After that, there was no leaving the stage. Next up was Fiddler On The Roof (Bielka), Annie (July), The Wizard of Oz, 42nd Street (Peggy Sawyer)… just to name a few. Growing up, I juggled school, theatre, dance class, softball, field hockey, lacrosse, and loved it all. By the time high school hit, I felt forced to pick just one thing to focus on, and lo and behold, field hockey won.
Just kidding, we are on my website after all!!

Once I got to high school, I focused a lot more on dance and voice lessons. I joined my high school’s dance company, did the school shows (Lil’ Abner, Good News, Beauty & The Beast), and performed professionally in shows at my local theatre, which was just down the street. For my role in Good News, I was awarded with a Metropolitan Theatre Award for “Best Duet”, and was nominated for “Best Actress in a Leading Role” for Belle in Beauty & the Beast. When senior year rolled along and it was time to apply to colleges, Wagner College was the only school I auditioned for, and I was accepted!
It was fate; Wagner is going to Wagner.

In those 4 years at Wagner, I got to dive into roles such as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors directed by Michele Pawk, Courtney/Whitney in Legally Blonde directed by Brian Patrick Murphy and choreographed by Sara Shepard, Queenie in Lippa’s The Wild Party, and Sally in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

While in college, I had the amazing opportunity of playing Wendla in the New York Regional Premiere of Spring Awakening, and later, Serena in Legally Blonde at the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

Since graduating, I have performed across the country in regional shows and a national tour. You can find me living the actor’s dream of auditioning and working in fitness and health in NYC.

“..Lauren Wagner romped about with a childish energy often lost in the motherly Wendy, and shared a palpable chemistry and joy with Abatecola.”
